RIANDA MITIGATION RANCH

2024

YEAR PROTECTED

40

TOTAL ACRES

Since 2014, the courts in California have mandated that the irreparable conversion of prime farmlands for development in California must be mitigated. The Rianda mitigation easement is one such mitigation. The Rianda Family has donated a conservation easement on 40 acres of prime farmlands to permanently protect its productivity as part of their large agricultural cooler project. Due to their commitment to the preservation of the Salinas Valley, they are also pursuing a SALCP grant award from ALT and the Department of Conservation to protect an additional 40 acres of prime lands next to their mitigation site.
